I have worked on numerous web design projects in recent years.
I have used a range of platforms to build sites including; WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and Google Sites. As I have familiarised myself with these platforms, my preferred workflow has moved towards using WordPress as it affords great customisation, a wide support base and is affordable (the platform itself is actually open-source and free!). The accessible qualities of WordPress also allow clients to take the ball and run with it if they want to continue developing their site themselves.
I have learnt frontend and backend design and maintenance in WordPress and enjoy my current workflow.
As well as designing and building websites myself, I have also supported clients to build their own sites with my assistance for the backend setup or for design/layout support.
For these websites, I did not build the sites themselves, but instead, set up the WordPress install and provided technical support and advice, where required.
